Waterford, Michigan -- The 2009 NO HAZ Poster Contest has been completed. The contest was open to all fourth and fifth grade students attending school in any of the NO HAZ member communities. The 2009 deadline for poster contest entries is March 12, 2009.
Cash prizes of $100.00, $50.00, and $25.00 are awarded to the winners. In addition, the winning posters will be reproduced on promotional materials for the 2009 NO HAZ program. Each of the other fourth and fifth grade students who enter the poster contest will receive a recognition certificate.
The NO HAZ program is a partnership of eleven governments representing 15 communities which provides a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of household hazardous waste to more than 300,000 Oakland County residents. The program is facilitated by the Oakland County Waste Resource Management Unit.
